System of Continuous Assessment at SLPS

Personality development is recognized as an integral aspect of education at SLPS, alongside academic performance. Both personality development and academic progress are key components of the continuous assessment system. Students demonstrating positive personality traits and academic excellence are honored with Merit Certificates.

Core Subjects Evaluation:

All students are expected to achieve distinction in English, Hindi, Mathematics, Science, Social Studies, and Computer Science, which are considered core subjects. Evaluation in these subjects occurs twice a month, providing teachers and parents with regular feedback on the child's performance. This frequent assessment allows students ample opportunity to improve gradually over time.

Other Subjects Evaluation:

Subjects such as Environmental Studies (EVS), Arts, and Moral Education are taught in correlation with the core subjects and are primarily assessed through project work. This interdisciplinary approach enhances students' understanding and application of knowledge across different domains.

Junior Section Evaluation:

In the junior section, subjects like General Knowledge, Moral Education, Physical Education, and Personality Development are graded. Rather than relying solely on test scores, teachers assess students' development throughout the year based on their behaviors and participation. This continuous grading system reduces the emphasis on traditional examinations, allowing students to focus more on core subjects while alleviating stress and reducing the number of examination days.

Overall, the system of continuous assessment at SLPS emphasizes holistic development, encourages active participation in various subjects and activities, and provides a supportive learning environment conducive to student growth and success.
