Attendance, Absence, Fine, and Re-admission Policy at SLPS

1. Leave Application: To maintain successful academic progress, written leave applications must be submitted in advance. In cases of illness or unforeseen circumstances, guardians are required to inform the Principal in writing as soon as possible. A minimum attendance of 90% of total working days is mandatory for students during the academic year. Falling short of this requirement will result in the student being ineligible to take examinations for that academic year. Attendance and discipline together contribute 10% towards the final grade.

2. Absence and Re-admission: Students absent for 15 days without leave will be struck off the roll. Re-admission requires payment of a fee of Rs. 1000/-, along with an absence fine of Rs. 20/- per day.

3. Re-admission Criteria: Students whose names have been struck off due to absence without leave, habitual lateness, or persistent indiscipline may not be considered for re-admission.

4. Reopening Day Attendance: All students must be present on the reopening day after each vacation.

5. Exam Preparation: It is advised to ensure that students are not disturbed during examination days and are not required to attend family functions.

6. Permission to Leave Premises: Students are not permitted to leave the school premises during school hours without the written permission of the Principal. Exceptions may be granted under exceptional circumstances upon written request from parents.

7. Suspension and Withdrawal: The Principal reserves the right to suspend a student. Parents/guardians may be asked to withdraw their child from the school if their conduct or educational progress is unsatisfactory.

8 . Record Keeping: All entries regarding absence, late-coming, or half-day leave should be recorded in the school diary and not on loose sheets of paper.

At SLPS, we uphold strict guidelines regarding attendance, absence, and discipline to ensure the smooth functioning of the school and the overall well-being of our students. For further clarification or inquiries regarding this policy, parents are encouraged to contact the school administration.
