Our Story

Our story begins in 1980 when our founder Mr. HN Singh and his family relocated from Mumbai to the Sandila Industrial area. Upon arrival, they discovered a glaring gap in educational opportunities – there was no English medium school within a 60-kilometer radius. Driven by their passion for education and determination to ensure their own daughters received a good schooling, our co-founder Dr. Shakuntla Singh relocated to Lucknow. This sacrifice accentuated their commitment to providing access to quality education for all children, regardless of their background or location.

Recognizing the importance of quality education, especially in English, Mr. HN Singh and his wife, Dr. Shakuntla Singh, founders of Sandila Lions Public School (SLPS), embarked on a mission to fill this void. In 1987, SLPS was established as a co-educational CBSE English medium school. Its founding principle was clear: to prevent other parents from experiencing the struggles they faced in securing quality education for their children.

Over the next 37 years, SLPS became a trusted institution in Sandila, known for its dedication to academic excellence and holistic development.
As times evolved and more English medium schools emerged in the area, SLPS recognized the changing educational landscape. In response, the school shifted its focus from solely serving Sandila town to extending its reach to the Sandila Industrial area and nearby rural areas. This strategic move allowed SLPS to continue its mission of providing quality education to a broader demographic, ensuring that no child is left behind.
Despite these changes, SLPS remains rooted in the core values instilled by its founders. The belief that every child deserves access to quality education guides every decision and initiative undertaken by the school. With a legacy of commitment and innovation, SLPS continues to shape the lives of generations of students, empowering them to achieve their full potential and contribute meaningfully to society.
